Can I see my business file?

No, you can't see your file because the numerical directory is only available to National Bank employees.

Who will have access to the information on the form?

Employees of National Bank and its subsidiaries only.

Can I modify my application to register for The National Bank Showcase?

No, you will have to fill out the form again. 

Can I remove my business file from The National Bank Showcase?

Yes, to remove your file, email us at nationalbankshowcase@nbc.ca .

What should I do if I have filled out the form and am unable to submit it? 

  • Refresh the page and try submitting it again
  • Fill out the form in another browser (Chrome, Explorer, Edge, Safari, Firefox, etc.)
  • Delete your history and cookies and try submitting the form again

I've submitted my application, what's the next step?

You will receive a confirmation email. If necessary, check your junk mail, the email may be there by mistake. 

For each application received, we must validate that:

  • The business is a client of National Bank
  • The business is part of an industry relevant to our employees
  • The data provided is accurate

If your application is not accepted, we will send you an email to inform you.

Who can participate?

The Expert Volunteer program is meant for all non-profit organizations (NPOs) and small businesses that are business clients of National Bank. Requests from businesses with less than 50 employees will be prioritized.  

What type of volunteer mandate can I submit?

You can submit any volunteer mandate that matches the competencies included in the form. To ensure the safety of participating employees and maintain physical distancing, only mandates that can be carried out remotely will be considered.

What's the next step after submitting a request?

Your request will have to undergo an approval process. You will receive an email communicating whether your volunteer mandate has been approved or rejected. Our automated emails will guide you through each step of the process.

Once I submit a mandate, how long will it take for it to be approved?

We aim to approve requests within 2 business days (48 hours).

What are my duties as a beneficiary organization?

You agree to abide by the terms and conditions governing participation    and make the initial contact with the National Bank employee volunteer.

How many requests can I submit at the same time?

We will only accept one request at a time from each NPO or small business client.

What will happen if no employee volunteers respond to my request?

You'll receive an email notifying you that your posting is expiring. You can then submit a new request by completing the form.

What is National Bank's role in the Expert Volunteer program?

National Bank commits to approve volunteer mandates and encourage employees to participate in the initiative. Employees are free to choose a specific volunteer mandate, at their discretion.

How will National Bank employees choose volunteer mandates?

National Bank employees can access all approved mandates. They will choose a mandate that appeals to them, based on their competencies and the competencies required to carry out the mandate.

What is the deadline to submit a mandate? 

For NPO clients, the program will be permanent. Small business clients can submit requests until September 30, 2020.

How can I change or withdraw my application?

Instructions for beneficiaries

To participate in National Bank's Expert Volunteer program as a beneficiary, please read and accept the following conditions and instructions. You must:

  • Be a National Bank client.
  • The beneficiary’s company must have been in business before the start of the pandemic.
  • Be a small business, as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency (0-99 employees).
  • Provide the necessary IT tools and accesses to carry out the mandate remotely.
  • Only use the employee volunteer's services as part of the Expert Volunteer program.
  • Not directly solicit the employee volunteer for recruitment purposes during or after the mandate, whether on a permanent or contractual basis, in the year following the employee's involvement.
  • Take charge of contacting, welcoming and training the volunteer to help them carry out the mandate.
  • Only submit one mandate at a time. You can only submit a second volunteer request once the previous mandate posting expires or after the mandate has been completed. 
  • Only share the information necessary to carry out the mandate with the employee.
  • Understand that the employee only acts as an advisor. You are solely responsible for making decisions arising from advice given by the employee. 
  • Recognize that National Bank and the employee are in no way responsible for damages that may arise from advice provided by the employee as part of the Expert Volunteer program. 
  • Not use the employee's confidential information for purposes other than to exercise or execute your rights or obligations under the mandate. 
  • Not copy or reproduce in any way the employee's confidential information or disclose, disseminate or convey the employee's confidential information to a third party.
  • Not use in any way the National Bank name or logo without first obtaining the written consent of National Bank. 
  • Not disclose or imply that you benefited from National Bank advisory services or that you have any relationship whatsoever with National Bank without its prior written consent.
  • In the event of communications intended for third parties and related to the Expert Volunteer program that could potentially have an adverse effect on National Bank, the Bank will have full control over any relevant communication.
  • Agree not to compensate the employee for their contribution, whether in the form of a salary or gifts.
